The Unụchi Foundation was established on August 1, 2023, with a sacred mission: to preserve and illuminate Africana spirituality, ensuring that generations to come can reconnect with the wisdom of their ancestors. Rooted in Ǹdi Igbo culture and guided by the traditional Igbo calendar, our work focuses on advocacy, education, and healing—bringing awareness to the richness of Africana spiritual traditions, sciences, and technologies.
One of our core initiatives is to advocate for the repeal of the Obeah Act of 1898 in Jamaica, a colonial-era law that criminalizes African spiritual practices and denies people access to their cultural heritage. By dismantling this systemic oppression, we are restoring dignity, freedom, and the right to practice ancestral traditions without fear.
